Common
Questions about the Outdoor Fitness Trainer
Certification
Can anyone enroll in this program?
You must have one of the following: National personal
trainer certification, group exercise certification
or bachelor’s
degree in exercise, sports or health sciences.
NESTA reserves the right to request documentation
if warranted.
Is this just like Adventure Boot
Camp?
NO. This program is designed for one Certified
Outdoor Fitness Trainer to work with 1 to 4 individuals.
If you are interested in working with large groups
of individuals in an outdoor environment, consider
our Authorized Adventure Boot Camp Business System.
The programming and business model for Adventure
Boot Camp is exceptionally comprehensive, completely
different and yet complementary to this course.
Complete both and cover all your bases. The Adventure
Boot Camp Business System also offers a live training
option and a multitude of additional information.
Can I do this if I do not have
all the equipment demonstrated in the course materials?
Yes. We intentionally show a wide variety of equipment
and outdoor options because we want you to know
the possibilities, get creative, and learn how
you can use similar equipment.
You
will learn how to be a very effective Certified
Outdoor Fitness Trainer if you have access to
little or no equipment.
Would a personal trainer do this
type of training instead of working at a gym?
It is entirely up to the individual. You may decide
to split your time evenly between indoor and outdoor
sessions. Maybe you can have Tuesdays and Thursdays
reserved for outdoor sessions. You may decide to
package your training sessions where every third
workout is outdoors. Some trainers work with their
clients exclusively outdoors. The choice is yours.
What topics are covered
in the certification course?
The course covers the following topics
and more: Surfaces,Temperature, Clothing, Trails,
Inclines, Declines, Lateral slopes, Playgrounds,
Par courses, John Spencer Ellis Signature Series
TriActive America Fitness Equipment, Circuit vs
PAR vs Fitness Zones, Rotation when training 2

"I wanted to say thank you for all the career opportunities your company has opened for me. I started as a stay at home mom, and began to work for a gym and six months later began my own business! Success is GREAT!!! Someday, I will get out to your facility and feel all the excitement. But for now I am living on my own excitement from where I began to where I am!!! Love your programs."
